In Memory of Roger Van De Walker
So often
in life a person passes on, and his life accomplishments are never recorded for those that remain. The Konocti Rod & Gun
Club will be forever grateful to Roger for his tireless dedication to our range, and the many club events he helped us develop.
May his dedication never be forgotten. In the seven plus years Roger has been a member of our
club, we have made incredible progress. Our progress is in no small way directly linked to Roger, and his knowledge of shooting
events, range maintenance, and the importance of a hard working board of directors. Roger gave his time freely to all these
tasks. One need only make the short drive to our range to see much of what Roger accomplished. From the counterweighted front
gate, to the safety yellow target frames, and range gate, Roger's handy work is everywhere to be seen. A trip to our club
website, and a peek at our picture gallery will find pictures of him working events, and sharing his knowledge. Roger
has in the past provided an informational booth for some of the events, displaying his antique firearms, and at times bringing
his big old single shot rifle along for the public, young and old, to shoot and enjoy. I think
it is reasonable to say that The Konocti Rod & Gun Club members spent time with Roger, will not be able to shoot a fine
firearm, or sip a glass of fine wine, or eat a chocolate cookie without thinking of him. He will be greatly missed. KR&GC Board of Directors
& General Membership
Happy
Thanksgiving to all the members of the KRGC!
During your day and over the weekend, remember our men
and women serving in the armed forces both overseas and here at home

From the Sheriff and County Council:
Range
guest waivers will be filled out and placed in the red box on the porch of the Sheriff's Range building.
From
the new Sheriff's Range master, Luke Bingham, Don McPherson is on his way to Afghanistan and we should all say a prayer
for his well being as well as the rest of the guy and gals over there.
ALL BULLETS MUST IMPACT THE BERM.
ALL SHELL CASINGS, REGARDLESS OR METAL, will be picked up and removed from the range. NO EXCEPTIONS will be allowed. This
applies to .22 as well. Do NOT sweep them into the dirt at the firing line. We may use the Sheriff's barrels and the nice
wood target frames but they must be returned to the area where they are OFF the range. DO NOT LEAVE THEM OUT. Put them near
the metal sheds and we won't have a problem.
PISTOLS on the rifle
range:
This is not a problem as long as we use TALL target frames or stand out near the
100 yard berm and shoot. Only as long as no one else is shooting rifles at the same time. Let's use some common sense
and courtesy. Rifles do have priority on that range.
ENFORCEMENT FROM
THE SHERIFF:
There will some motion sensing cameras installed, looking at the front gate to
read license numbers, looking at the pistol range and the rifle range. Violations will be handled by the Sheriff's Dept.
with our cooperation.
We have a strike against us already. SOMEBODY shot
up the nice new surface on the pistol range with a .22 and it wasn't even a week old. ALL BULLETS MUST IMPACT THE BERM.
